Valdez Educational Services can implement an Attendance and Instructional Recovery (AIR) program at your school. 

 

This program takes place at the school site on Saturdays from 10 am to 2:30 pm and focuses on differentiated, skills-based tutoring of foundational skills.  It combats the effects of chronic student absences by reviewing missed assignments and materials, and strengthening students’ basic skills. 

 

Program components include:

• face-to-face group tutoring​​

• online tutoring

• non-cognitive skills workshops, and

• academic games

 

Building a relationship with all stakeholders is part of a vital blueprint for the successful implementation of the program:

​

• Collaboration with administrators and teachers allow for focused instruction that target students’ specific needs​

• Phone calls are made directly to parents to provide them with specific information regarding the program

• Individual follow-up visits are conducted the week after students attend the Saturday Attendance and Instructional Recovery program to reinforce skills and build a relationship with the student and family.
